King Cemetery #2 Little history known about burials in King Cemetery. Forty-five grave sites were found and moved by The Corps of Engineers in 1953. Of the 45 graves found, only four were identified. King Cemetery was moved when Lake Lewisville, Denton County, Texas was enlarged; it's previous location was near Little Elm, Texas. Information on this cemetery is from files of The Corps of Engineers. King Cemetery was moved to Little Elm Cemetery in Little Elm, Texas along with three other abandoned cemeteries. The existing Little Elm Cemetery was at the present location with the exception of graves moved from lower part of the cemetery to a higher location. Burials in the King Cemetery are located at the North end of Little Elm Cemetery.

From Denton, Texas take US 380 East to FR 720 Exit; turn right on FR 720 for 7.9 miles (you will go through the town of Little Elm, Texas); after you have gone 7.9 miles turn right on Kings Road and follow this road for 2.0 miles and the cemetery is on the right.

Note: Six footstones were found with initials. The footstones were moved to the location and located at the site of new burials. Footstones are - M.A.K.; J.S.; H.A.S.; M.S.; M.; D.J.
