Where We Are
Castro County is located in the lower part of the Texas Panhandle, one county away from New Mexico and named for Henri
Castro, who was consul general to France for the Republic of Texas and the founder of a colony in Texas. The county seat
is Dimmitt, named for the Rev. W.C. Dimmitt by H G Bedford of the Bedford Town and Land Company. Dimitt is located just
